At M. Hajler Photography, the term Visual Impression Portrait (VIP for short) is an all-encompassing term used for “headshots” and branding photography. We feel the term “headshot” has a negative connotation and energy. We want our clients to understand and acknowledge that their Visual Impression Portraits are an important tool for authentic day to day business, whether you are signing emails with your smile, or passing along a business card to prospective clients. VIPs are also used on various social media platforms - an important visual representation of you and your business in different settings. Many times your Visual Impression Portrait(s) is/are the FIRST impression a prospective client will be greeted with. They want to know that they are dealing with a genuine person not just a business. Distinguished VIP
A Distinguished VIP package includes a single image, usually head and shoulders only, that introduces your face to the world. A Distinguished VIP will be clear and well-lit, eyes looking at the camera, as if you were meeting someone for the first time. This portrait is usually taken with a clean background, but it can also incorporate your office, outdoor location or a hallway. This is the image you would use for your business card, your email signature, and as your main professional profile picture on social media platforms. A Distinguished Visual Impression Portrait is often the first impression of you and your business, so it is important show authenticity!
